French Metabolic Academy

Training tomorrow's metabolic health experts

An advanced training programme dedicated to understanding and managing metabolic disorders, following a scientific, systemic and personalised approach.

The manifesto

A necessary revolution

Overweight, obesity, metabolic syndrome: these chronic conditions often share a common metabolic origin. Yet their management remains largely centred on oversimplified approaches (general recommendations, calorie restriction, standardised protocols) that quickly reach their limits.

Metabolic disorders are diseases of systems, involving complex interactions that call for a global, mechanistic and integrative approach.

Interactions to be read in their full complexity

  • Nutrition and micronutrition
  • Hormones and neurotransmitters
  • Microbiota and inflammation
  • Mitochondria and energy metabolism
  • Sleep, stress and physical activity
  • Environment

The mission

Closing the francophone gap

France currently lags significantly behind in understanding and managing metabolic disorders. The French Metabolic Academy's mission is to help close this gap by training professionals capable of developing genuine expertise in this field.

This training does not aim to hand over ready-made recipes: it conveys sound clinical reasoning, grounded in an understanding of the biochemical and physiological mechanisms that regulate human health.

Training professionals able to

  • Analyse metabolic disorders in their full complexity
  • Build coherent, personalised therapeutic strategies
  • Base every decision on physiology, not oversimplified models
  • Bring about lasting change in the management of these disorders

The approach

Systemic and personalised

The training does not hand over ready-made recipes: it conveys sound clinical reasoning, grounded in an understanding of biochemical and physiological mechanisms.

Participants learn to

  • Build a relevant clinical history
  • Formulate aetiopathogenic hypotheses
  • Identify the root causes of disorders
  • Determine which functional tests are genuinely useful
  • Develop coherent, personalised protocols

A pedagogy for clinical learning

  • A structured programme available online
  • Monthly live webinars
  • Weekly Q&A sessions
  • A private peer forum accessible every day

Therapeutic strategies

A practical, autonomous approach

The aim is to help participants develop a practical, autonomous and physiologically coherent approach. The therapeutic strategies covered include the levers listed opposite.

  • Functional nutrition
  • Targeted micronutrition
  • Optimising physical activity
  • Improving sleep
  • Stress management
  • Individualised supplementation

A network of committed peers

Breaking professional isolation

One of the major challenges for practitioners interested in metabolic health and functional approaches is often a sense of isolation. These approaches remain little developed in many medical environments, and many professionals find themselves alone in their practice when facing complex issues.

The French Metabolic Academy was designed to address this reality: participants join a network of professionals who share the same values and the same vision of metabolic health.

This space allows participants to

  • Discuss the concepts covered during the e-learning teaching
  • Ask questions
  • Share experiences
  • Benefit from the perspective of other practitioners committed to this approach

Enough to build a genuine collective dynamic to sustainably address overweight, obesity and metabolic syndrome.

A unique training programme

Led by Dr Anne Lucas, PharmD

The French Metabolic Academy is the result of more than fifteen years of clinical and educational experience. A doctor of pharmacy specialising in micronutrition, Dr Anne Lucas, PharmD, has supported several hundred people and trained numerous healthcare professionals. The training represents the structured synthesis of the best of this work.

Pedagogy

A structured transmission, designed for a gradual integration of knowledge.

Passion

The enthusiasm and commitment that drive every session, day after day.

Precision

Scientific rigour in the service of sound clinical reasoning.

A pathway for progression

The bridge to the French Metabolic Clinic

The French Metabolic Academy is part of a wider project: the French Metabolic Initiative. Participants who have completed the training may, if they wish, join the French Metabolic Clinic (FMC).

This structure aims to bring together practitioners trained in managing metabolic disorders according to this systemic and personalised approach: a network of professionals committed to a new way of supporting every person presenting a metabolic disorder.

Who the training is for

For many participants, the French Metabolic Academy represents far more than a training programme: a genuine professional turning point. It allows participants to:

  • Build a differentiating expertise
  • Develop an advanced clinical approach
  • Add value to their practice
  • Undertake a career change into metabolic health

A training programme accessible by application

The admission process

To preserve the programme's educational quality and ensure an optimal learning environment, access to the French Metabolic Academy is by application.

01

Submitting the application

Candidates submit a pre-registration request.

02

Offer of admission

After the application has been reviewed, successful candidates receive an offer of admission.

03

Access to the programme

Once enrolment is confirmed, participants gain access to the detailed educational programme and the full organisation of the training.

Certification

A founding first intake

The training runs from September to March. A validation exam in multiple-choice format is held in March 2027, and certificates are awarded at the opening cocktail of the French Metabolic Summit, on 26 March 2027 in Paris.

To preserve educational quality, places are deliberately limited, and the Academy opens no more than two intakes per year.

Next intake

September 2026

Limited in-person places. Access is by application, after the file has been reviewed.
